CC MIN 112514201 City Council Study Session Meeting Minutes Tuesday, November 25, 2014 6:00 PM Call to Order /Pledge of Allegiance Deputy Mayor Spivey called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 1. Roll Call Councilmembers Agnew, Rheaume, Samberg and Deputy Mayor Spivey present. Councilmembers Evans, Lamb and Mayor Freed were absent and excused. 2. Meeting Agenda Approval The meeting agenda was approved as presented. 3. Council Committee Reports None 4. Study Session a. AB #14 -184 - Study Session with 1St District Legislators to Discuss City of Bothell Priorities and Upcoming Legislative Session RECOMMENDED ACTION: No action is requested this evening, however, Council should engage in a discussion of the City of Bothell 2015 Legislative Priorities and upcoming legislative issues with 1St District Legislators. City Attorney Joe Beck thanked the 1St District Legislators for coming and reviewed the City Council's 2015 top legislative priorities which were adopted on November 4, 2014. The City's top priorities for 2015 are: • Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funding • Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) funding • Public Works Trust Fund (PWTF) • Funding and legislation to address the rapidly expanding burden and costs of municipal criminal prosecution • Support of the University of Washington Bothell. 202 City Council Study Session Minutes November 25, 2014 Page 2 of 2 Representatives of the 1St District, Senator Rosemary McAuliffe, Representative Derek Stanford and Representative Luis Moscoso introduced themselves and engaged in discussion and questions with the City Council regarding the City's priorities and the upcoming legislative session. Judge Michelle Gehlsen briefed the representatives on the issue of funding and legislation to address the rapidly expanding burden and costs of municipal criminal prosecution and entertained questions.
